I've been loving everything English since I fell in love with Wills and Kate, including the english countryside lifestyle...clothing, decor, homes, etc. Recently the pair made a trip to Scotland and visited Dumfries House. Dumfries House was built in between 1754 and 1759 and is considered one of Britain's most beautiful stately homes and best kept heritage secrets. Stately indeed, the house sits on 2,000 acres of land!

There is something about castles and old estates that lure me into
their luxurious interiors. I’m not saying I want to live in a place where the
couches aren’t comfy and everything looks too precious to touch, but hopefully
I can find a happy medium when decorating my own home. I know I’m way ahead of myself but I am constantly shopping
for my future home. Granted I don’t know where that is going to be, but if its
not in England or Europe…it will be here in New England. Granted I need to be
someone near St. Lawrence Univeristy because all of my children will attend just like
their mother (at least thats what I'm hoping).
I always thought I was going to decorate with a modern feel,
but as I get older I’m falling in love with antique furniture, dark woods and
rich materials. Lately I’m loving Ralph Lauren Home, specifically their Heiress
and Brookfield Collections.

This room would be so great for entertaining smaller groups of friends. |

These colors are so warm and inviting. The bed is calling my name. |
 |
Lounging on this couch all day watching movies...yes please. |
 |
Bedroom of my dreams...but so unrealistic. |
 |
I love fresh flowers and always want them somewhere in the house. |
 |
I love so many elements in this room, especially the chandelier and tartan throw. |
I like the decor in these rooms because the furniture gives off a sense of history. Small rustic touches, intviting lux materials and a fresh take on tradition estate decor is something I definitely want to incorporate into my future home...whenever that will be. How would you decorate?
xoxo
