Middleton Monday!

Lets talk about my favorite person in the world, HRH The Duchess of Cambridge – Kate Middleton. If you don’t know who she is, you need to come out from under the rock you call home. I’ve followed Kate on and off since she came to public attention at St. Andrews but not closely until this past fall. I am officially on the Kate bandwagon, reading up on public appearances, following her style as it evolves and doing my best to fill my closet with Repli-kates.

There will always be those who disagree, but I think Kate makes an amazing role model and people love her! One of the reasons why she is so lovable and relatable is her reasonable style.

Since the media got ahold of Kate, they have been following her each and every move. What you should notice is that her fashion hasn’t really skyrocketed since becoming a Duchess. Of course she now has access to top designers, which she does partake in now and then, but generally speaking she has remained very level headed about the value of her clothes. She can be seen in a $60 jacket or 80$ dress from Zara – i.e. the blue cornflower dress from Zara the day after her wedding.

I absolutely LOVED the black and white one, one of my favorite Kate looks!

She could easily ditch the department store scene and spend the rest of her days draped in Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada, but she’s not. Seeing such a public and prominent figure in clothes that any of us can afford makes her budget friendly fashion a hit and it only increases her number of worldwide fans. However when wanting to snag the same piece as Kate you must waste NO TIME. Her iconic Reiss bandage she wore when meeting the Obamas in the summer of 2011 sold out in LESS THAN AN HOUR and crashed the Reiss website. Now that’s power.

Kate looked so great in this dress, especially with the tan she got on her Honeymoon!

Other than her style, Kate has so many other great qualities including her humor, kindness and lets not forget, the woman is GORGEOUS. But we can save all those for later posts. I now dub thee Middleton Mondays! I think Monday just became my favorite day of the week!

Happy Middleton Monday!
