I meant to give my amazing mother a shout out on Mother’s
Day, but the last three days have been cray; we’ve been moving out of my old
apartment, into my new one, driving back to New York, furniture shopping and trying
to figure out the color scheme of my new bedroom. Exhausting is an
understatement. Anyways, lets talk about my mama – Deb.

In her natural element...oversized sunglasses enjoying a G&T with extra lime. |
Deb is a catch. She’s like Martha Stewart…but high-strung
and soooo much more fun. She truly is the “hostess with the mostest” and has put
on some of the best parties I’ve ever been to. As I get older I’m starting to
realize that my mom does in fact know what is best.

Always our number 1 fan, Deb started to throw tailgates my sophmore year in college...I played volleyball, our games were inside. |

No really, she was our NUMBER 1 FAN...she would always come to games with a big bag full of brownies. |
I’m so lucky to have my mom. Whether it be a breakdown in
the mall, beginning life crisis in the grocery store or having a meltdown
because I’m still learning the art of doing laundry, I know she is always a
phone call away.
Now that I'm in the process of decorating and designing an apartment, I'm realizing now more than ever she is like the internet when it comes to interior decorating - she knows everything. I'm home for a few days while I wait for my bed to be delivered to the new place and its like I'm taking "Housewife 101". Today's lesson was a guide to antiquing and what to look for when shopping for furniture. Tomorrow is going to be full of fabric, bedding, patterns and oriental rugs. I'm telling you the woman is like a dictionary - shes like the Discovery channel of home and gardens...plus she can cook. Nice catch dad.
Happy belated Mother’s Day to all you mama’s out there!
