As some of you know, this past weekend was FIGAWI out on the
wonderful island of Nantucket. For those of you who have no idea what I’m
talking about, Figawi Race Weekend is one of the top sailing events on the east
coast and is known nationally as well as internationally. It kicks off the Cape
Cod and Nantucket summer season and basically what you need to know is that IT
IS AWESOME.

The weather wasn't ideal for the weekend, but it made for some great photo ops. |
A few of my friends and I spent memorial weekend out on ACK for the race and it was nothing less of a shit
show. I made new friends, fell in love with lime-a-ritas, fell in love with the
island even more and above all, serious husband potential EVERYWHERE. I basically found love in a hopeless place. No, I
wasn’t in heaven - I was on Nantucket.

As soon as we docked on the island it was straight to the bars, we obviously ended at The Box, also known as the Chicken Box. They always have great live music. This band was awesome, and obviously my bestie Kenny thought so as well.
(Shes the one in the front loving life featured in both pics)
The next morning we made moves and headed over to one of Kenny's friend's house. Our method of travel, Tom's latest impulse buy...a jeep wrangler - as seen above. If you're wondering what
windward is, its Tom's company. They make awesome sail cloth belts, key chains, t shirts. Check it out! Father's day is right around the corner.
What we didn't realize was that it's a stick. Emma swore she knew how to drive stick...
Then we almost ran the jeep into a fence...Tom quickly came to her aid.
Once we got to the house we were introduced to about a bazillion people. Some of them included the fine specimens you see below - few
alumni Harvard lax players. Yes, it was a great day.

You're welcome ladies. |
 |
Just 30 pounds of prime meat..no not the boys, this kind. |
 |
What was for lunch? |
 |
It was only fitting that we drank Dark n Stormys...with the weather and all. |
Don't let the tent fool you, this was one of the hottest spots to stay.
Then there was that time we hitch hiked into town via some band's bus. The driver was actually super nice, AND HAD A BRITISH ACCENT!
The weekend as a whole was a total success and was so much fun that reminiscing about it will get me through the rest of my
summer, which will most likely involve working, working, working and a summer
course. But fingers crossed I’ll be able to make it out a few more times before the summer ends! I would share more fun activities with you all, but I'll save that for another time...like not online for the world to read.
Sadly the weekend came to an end, and we had to return to the
mainland…and reality. But can you understand why I could of stayed forever?
Hope everyone had an awesome holiday weekend!
